Friday’s dust storm

We had a pretty good dust storm on Friday evening.  I noticed the dark skies to the southwest when I left my house (in the northwest valley) under sunny skies.

These pictures were taken from around the I-10 and Loop 303 area, during the early evening (when there should have been a big bright sun in my windshield!), and with my blackberry (unedited).

Note – I was NOT using an SLR camera with manual settings while looking through the viewfinder; I was simply holding my phone up with one hand while driving.  Please spare me any “unsafe driving” emails..

@ Austin – Thanks for that – I needed the laugh!

My Moving Stills series generates an occasional email from somebody who thinks I’m a danger to society. (and they’ve never seen me eat lunch, talk on the phone, change the radio station, and review MLS information – all at the same time – while driving!) :-) I figured with the stormy weather and all, better to be preemptive..

Chris, I am appalled at your lack of respect for America’s driving best practices. Immediately after reading this post I sent out a APB to all family members to stay away from the Phoenix area, especially during prime commute times, just in case you get back on the road with your phone in hand…

Naw, I’m just joshin’ ya. It struck me as amusing, though, ehat you had to ‘banish’ any prospective emails concerning your driving habits. Is this a common occurrence???

And back to the article at hand: WHOA! Mighty Mother Nature strikes again, I guess. I feel fortunate that we don’t have many dust storms up here in MT. Anyways, I’ll stop wasting your time. Thanks for the post, I look forward to giving you a hard time sometime soon in the future!! :)
