Another great post Heather! I have this same conversation with clients all the time. The size of the Phoenix area is almost always a surprise to my out-of-town clients. I usually recommend that they spend their first day driving around by themselves - without the pressure of looking at properties. Stop for coffee or breakfast in one location, have lunch in another location, check out the shopping, etc. Many of my clients report putting 300 to 400 miles on their car that day but they always say it was one of the best things they could have done.

These are great ideas to think about. It's ok to be a "shopper", or a "buyer", or a "maybe something will catch my eye -er". Regardless, thinking through all these variables will make your trip more productive and enjoyable (for clients and for their Realtors!)
