My job and my hobbies rarely coincide, but I think I’ve found a way to put a couple of them together.
As a Realtor, I drive a lot; often in excess of 30,000 miles a year. This gives me the opportunity to see just about every part of the city. I may not know every single neighborhood in detail, but ask me what’s on a given intersection, or where the closest xyz is, and odds are I can tell you. (Considering it’s about 75 miles from NW Surprise to SE Gilbert, that’s no small feat!)
As a photographer, I’m terrible. It’s a good thing this is a hobby and not my day job. But digital photography is something I enjoy, and who knows, maybe I’ll get better at it.
So Moving Stills was born. The rules for a Moving Stills post are simple – the picture must be taken from my car. Inside my car, standing on top of my car, or within a few feet of my car. No hiking across fields or through city centres to get the perfect shot. And no staging whatsoever – these will be natural pictures of our fine city.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at Moving Stills #1.
PS – I’m open to any and all photography advice!
Your camera-weilding Realtor,
Chris Butterworth
