Peoria’s newest Harkins Theater opens this weekend

This is a big weekend for Peoria, featuring the opening of the newest Harkins Theater at Parkwest (Loop 101 and Northern Ave), and the opening of Lake Pleasant Towne Center.

Parkwest is building a reputation as an upscale shopping center at the north end of the “stadium district” (my term for the rapid growth area around the University of Phoenix Stadium). This theater will fit the bill, with a healthier menu, more drink choices, and a gourmet snack bar.

This will also give movie-goers in the northwest valley another choice, which should relieve some traffic from the Harkins and the AMC at/near Arrowhead Towne Center.

Here’s an article from AZCentral.com with more details.

We’re pretty busy this weekend, but you can bet we’ll check it out soon!
