Peoria’s bulk-trash collection starts next week

The City of Peoria collects bulk trash and loose items from every home in the city once per year. It’s a nice gesture, and a great service, but it can be hard to follow the rules. Each house is in a designated zone. Each zone will have their trash collected at some point during an assigned week. The entire process will take us into May.

Homeowners are supposed to put their trash at the curb at the beginning of their assigned week. But beware: put your trash out too early, and you’ll get a notice from your HOA. Put your trash out too late, and you’ll get several notices (and probably a fine) from your HOA!

Here are the Zone maps and schedules:

South of Bell Road: Zone 1-8

North of Bell Road: Zone 9-16

If you have questions about what gets picked up, or which zone you’re in, give the City’s Solid Waste Division a call at 623-773-7431.
