Fair Housing Law

All real estate advertised herein is subject to the Federal Fair Housing Act, which makes it illegal to advertise “any preference, limitation or discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin, or intention to make any such preference, limitation or discrimination.”

These are “protected classes” and it is illegal to discriminate against someone in the sale or purchase of real estate because of their inclusion in a protected class. In addition, Arizona state law protects “legal source of income” and certain Arizona cities have laws that treat “sexual preference”  as a protected class.

Anyone may file a federal lawsuit against a Realtor who violates Federal Fair Housing Law, even if that person was not the client working with the Realtor. The federal government, through HUD (Housing and Urban Development) routinely sends testers into the field who attempt to catch Realtors and others in the act of violating federal Fair Housing Law.

We support federal Fair Housing Law.

We will not knowingly accept any advertising for real estate which is in violation of the law. We will not work with clients who request or insist that we violate the Federal Fair Housing law.

Listings advertised on this website originate with the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service, which also adheres to Federal Fair Housing laws. Please note that we only directly control the language describing listings on homes whose sellers we represent.

If you think you find a Fair Housing violation on our website, please email the site administrator at Admin@ThePhoenixAgents.com
